Lois Moran Award for Crafting Writing

We’re pleased to announce three recipients for this year’s Lois Moran Award!
The longest-serving editor of American Craft magazine and a monumental figure in the history of the American Craft Council, Lois Moran was a tireless proponent of the field of American craft. She had a mission to elevate the importance of craft for a broad audience—and this year’s awardees have done just that through their winning articles.

Congratulations to Anya Montiel, Shannon Stratton, and Sebastian Grant!

Special thanks to our guest jurors Hrag Vartanian, Charisse Pearlina Weston, and Emily Zaiden, who selected the previously published works.

From the jurors: “‘Respect, Reciprocity, and Responsibility’ starts with artists and objects and moves into an entirely new outlook, while being informed by the lessons of the pandemic and the broader implications of craft and art in our culture.”
